Obituary

Richard Andrew Borum, 88, of Ft. Morgan, Died Saturday morning at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. He was born on April 22, 1918 to Clarence and Olga (Dinnsen) Borum at their home south of Ft. Morgan. His mother died a few days after he was born, His aunt, Olga's sister Frieda helped take care of him and later married his father Clarence. Richard served in the Airforce during WWII. He married Leah K. Middlemist December 17, 1946 in Denver. They lived in Lakewood for several years, where Richard worked as a supervisor for the Zuni Power Plant. Richard was very talented when it came to arts & crafts, and repairing engines or electrical items. He enjoyed rodeos, breaking horses and working on ranches, he also like to go hunting and camping, and especially enjoyed being with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Leah of Ft. Morgan, 2 daughters, Shari Leah Wilson of Davenport, WA, and Linda Kay Benz of Estancia, NM , 1 sister Dorothy Woodruff and her husband Charlie of Truman, AK, two grandsons Andrew Dayton Gray of Seattle, WA and Justin Jacob Christensen of Moriarty, NM. He was preceded in death by 1 brother Charles Edwin Borum, and his parents. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 am at the Morgan Church of the Nazarene in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2551 Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Boy's Ranch of Colorado, P.O. Box 681 LaJunta, CO, 81050. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
