Richard "Dick" Chartier, 87, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008, at the Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan. He was born July 20, 1921, in Eskdale, southeastern Morgan County, Colorado, to Hector & Vada Chartier. Richard has lived in Morgan County off and on for many years. Richard served in the US Navy during WW II. On December 25, 1947, Richard married Neoma E. High in Fort Morgan. Prior to retirement, Richard worked as an iron worker in the construction industry. He was a member of Iron Workers Local #24 for over 25 years. Survivors include his children, Walter of Fort Lupton, and Vicky Gowin of Walsh, CO. and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 1 son, Richard, 2 brothers, and his parents. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at 10:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Inurnment and military graveside service will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver.
