RICHARD N. "DICK" EICHER, 80, of Brush, died Wednesday night, November 28, 2007 at North Shore Health & Rehab Center in Loveland. He was born in Brush on January 9, 1927 to Orville & Ethel (Suttle) Eicher. He attended Brush schools and graduated from Brush High School in 1945. Eicher served in the US Air Corp. during WWII. He married Helen Ruhl on October 26, 1952 in Fort Morgan. Mr. Eicher was a Mail Carrier for US Postal Service for 42 years before his retirement in 1989. He was also a Brush Volunteer Fireman for 25 years. Eicher was a member of Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush, American Legion Sagebrush Post, and the Rural Mail Carriers Association. He enjoyed gardening and golfing. Survivors include his three daughters; Charlotte Parkes of Loveland, Janet Vondy & her husband Steven of Fort Collins, and Karen Eicher of Evans; two sisters, Laura Ingmire of Brush, and Marian Christensen of Sterling; and one brother, Paul Eicher of Brush. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Richard Parkes, Dale Parkes, Steven Vondy II, Kris Vondy, and Zeb Vondy; and six great grandchildren, Jacob Vondy, Nathan Vondy, Mikayla Vondy, Abigail Vondy, Elizabeth Parkes, and Evan Vondy. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Eicher and Lee Eicher; his son-in-law, Ted Parkes; and his wife, Helen Eicher. Visitation will be Sunday, December 2, 2007 from 2 – 5 PM at the Heer Mortuary in Brush. Funeral services will be Monday, December 3, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by VFW Post 3551. Memorial gifts may be made to Immanuel Congregational Church or to Brush Volunteer Fire Dept.
