Richard E. Hudson, 75, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016, at the inpatient hospice unit at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He was born June 8, 1940, in Brush, to Joseph & Eva Hudson.

Dick graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1959. In 1960 he joined the US Air Force where he served until his honorable discharge in 1966. Dick worked as a law enforcement officer for the Morgan County Sheriff's Department and later the Brush Police Department.

Dick was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM #123; the Morgan County Shrine , and the Eastern Star. He enjoyed working with these organizations helping to raise funds for the Shriners Hospital.

Survivors include his 3 children, Merle Hudson of Tucson, AZ, Deborah A. Parrish of Brush, and Doug Hudson of Ordway, CO; 2 sisters, Patricia M. Schrum and Sandra Breazeale both of Fort Morgan, 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church, 225 W. Bijou in Fort Morgan. The service will conclude at the church with Masonic Rites & Military Honors.  Inurnment will be at a later date. The Heer Mortuary & Crematory is entrusted with the cremation arrangements.  Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Morgan County Shrine Club for the Shriners Hospital.
