Richard Earl Jackson, was born February 20, 1932 in Dodge City, KS to Thomas & Louise Jackson. He departed this life on December 14, 2019, in Greeley, CO.
Richard graduated from Dodge City High School in 1950. He was drafted into the US Army and served for 2 years. After his honorable discharge, Richard attend Kansas University, receiving his law degree from KU in 1956. He married Ramona Fulton in 1958. They had three children. The Jackson family lived in Great Bend, KS for several years, eventually moving to Mayfield, KS where Richard purchased a bank. In the early 1980's he moved to Brush and was employed at the Farmers State Bank in Brush until his retirement in the early 1990's.
Dick married Gloria Miller in 1989. They would have celebrated their 30 th wedding anniversary on December 22. Dick enjoyed walking, biking, golf, sports of all kinds, but especially KU basketball and the Denver Broncos. He also enjoyed Fantasy Football with his family, sitting on the porch visiting, morning breakfasts with friends and listening to music, especially Frank Sinatra.
Dick is survived by his wife, Gloria of Brush; children Jocelyn (Dave) Thompson of Nokomis, FL; Joel (Audrey) Jackson of Colorado Springs, CO; Pam Campbell of Denver; Dennis (Kelly) Miller and Rick (Dawn) Miller all of Aurora, CO; and Jami (Benjamin) Guzman of Brush. He and Gloria had 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his young son, Jeff, sister, Jo Fillmore and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at St. Charles Episcopal Church in Ft Morgan on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 11:00 AM. The service will conclude at the church. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the St. Charles Episcopal Church.
