RICHARD JAMES KETTERING, 61, longtime Fort Morgan resident, died Monday afternoon at his home. Kettering was born in Nebraska on March 12, 1945 to Henry & Marie Kettering. The family moved to Fort Morgan in the early 1950's. He married Sandra Fixen on May 21, 1966 in Fort Morgan. Mr. Kettering served in the US Air Force. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2551, the D.A.V., and the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. He was an excellent Chess player and enjoyed playing cards. He was a family man who always put his family first. Survivors include his wife Sandy Kettering of Fort Morgan; two daughters, Jayna Clarke of Fort Morgan and Shelly Reagan of Sterling; one sister, Ellen Bragg of Colorado Springs; his mother, Marie Jones of Colorado Springs, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial service will be Friday at 2:00 PM at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Military Honors will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post 2551. Services will conclude at the chapel. There has been cremation. Memorials may be made in Kettering's name in care of the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary, 225 E. Platte Ave., Fort Morgan, CO 80701
