Obituary

Richard Dario Martinez, 78, of Weldona passed away, in his home on Saturday, May 20, 2017.
The son of Adolph J. Martinez and Flora M. Ganley, Richard Martinez was born and raised in Denver, Colorado where he attended Manual High School. Here he gained many lifelong friendships. During this time, Richard worked as a pin setter in a bowling alley and developed a serious passion for bowling. He rolled many perfect games in his bowling career and just recently picked up the game again.
Richard attended Northeastern Junior College for Engineering and Mechanical Drawing. He then joined the army in 1960 and was stationed in Germany. Receiving an Honorable Discharge after three years, Richard returned to Colorado having forged lasting friendships and speaking a little German.
Richard worked at American Stainless as an estimator for commercial kitchens for over 40 years. After retirement he moved to Weldona, Colorado where he cherished many new and dear friendships.
Richard lived a full life enjoying time with family and friends. He enjoyed skiing, boating, traveling and taking great pride in those he held so dear.
His parents, two sisters and his beloved Linda Bunker precede Richard in death.
Those surviving him will dearly miss Richard: Daughters, Dina Kenkel and Christy Dunst. Son,Todd Martinez. Linda's daughter, Barb Brandenburg. Grandchildren, Camryn and Jack Kenkel, Tyler and Hailey Dunst and Alex Brandenburg. And many close nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life potluck will be held on June 10th from 2 to 5 p.m. at Jackson Lake's Club House, 25402 Indian Way, Orchard, CO.
