Richard L. Neal, 93, passed away Friday, December 5, 2008, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Brush. He was born January 31, 1915, east of Manning, KS, to L. G. and Georgi Ann Neal. He served in the US Army-Air Corp from 1941 – 1945. He was a life member of VFW #4171 in Golden, CO. Richard lived in the Holly, CO, community for many years. He later moved to Denver where he worked as a carpenter for the City & County of Denver. In 1998, Richard moved to a farm near Hillrose. He loved living on his farm. He was a member of the Hillrose Community Church. He enjoyed wood crafting, watching football and baseball. In his younger days he loved to play baseball. Survivors include his 4 children, Linda Garcia of Sterling, CO, George Neal of Laguna, NM, Kathy Delariva of Fort Morgan, and Lawrence Neal of Hillrose; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Sharon Neal; 1 sister, Nellie Wilson; 2 grandchildren, Amber Kay Neal, and Ronnie Bone; and his parents. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2008, at 10:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush. The service will conclude at the mortuary. Inurnment will be at a later date in Holly, CO.
