Richard (Dick) Regan of Fort Moran Colorado went to be with our lord unexpectedly on January 9, 2022 at the age of 86.
Dick was born on April 11, 1935 in Greely Colorado to George and Dorothy Regan, the oldest of 5 children Dick spent his childhood in Greeley and moved to Fort Morgan at the age of 14. He attended Fort Morgan Schools until he was 17 when he enlisted in the United States Army serving in the Vietnam war. After discharge from the Army Dick attended Mesa University in Arizona and obtained a bachelor's and master's degree in Police Science and served as a police officer for the Phoenix Police Department for 16 years.
Dick had 5 children, Diane, Roxanne, Cindy, Russell and Vicki. In 1981 Dick married Carol Mese and became stepfather to 4 children who he loved as his own: Stephanie, Kimberly, Sonny, and Michael.
Dick knew no stranger and enjoyed his job as Manager/Assistant Manager at Ace Hardware in Brush for 18 years until the store closed in 2021.
Dick was a member of the Brush American Legion Post #0068 for twelve years and during that time participated in the Honor flight to Washington DC in September 2010.
Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Dick is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol. Daughters: Diane Heflin of Nebraska, Roxanne/Corky Algren of Arkansas, and Cindy/Larry Balance of Arkansas. Stepchildren: Stephanie/Robert Pennington of Fort Morgan, Kimberly/Tim Worthley of Loveland, Sonny/Laura Mese of Alaska, and Michael/Shawna Mese of Milliken. Brothers: Patch/Bonnie Regan of South Dakota, Kenneth/Marion Regan of California, Sister Janice Pflager of Fort Morgan, many nieces and nephews, 37 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Reagan, sister Joann, Son Russell, Daughter Vicki, and Grandson Randy.
Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan on Sunday, January 16 th from 5 – 6 PM.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 19 th at 11:00 AM, also at Heer Mortuary Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made in Dick's name and sent to Heer Mortuary, 225 East Platte Ave., Fort Morgan, CO 80701.
