Richard E. "Corky" Skinner, 81 life resident of Morgan County, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017, at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He was born January 2, 1936 in Brush to Paul & Glenna Mae Skinner.
Corky graduated from Brush High School in 1955. He joined the Colorado National Guard while still in high school. Corky was well-loved for his sense of humor and his smile could brighten anyone's day. He was well known for his selflessness and love in every part of his life.
Corky's hobbies included drag racing as a member of the Inliners International Association. He was also a member of the American Legion as a veteran, and the NRA as a rifle enthusiast.
Survivors include his fiancé, Virginia Moats and children, Danny Strange and wife, Terri, Honey Riter and husband, Ron, Mindy Albert and husband, Steve, Ron Lewis, Bill Wilson, Pat Skinner, and Barb Schell and husband, Don, as well as his brothers, Glenn, and his wife, Marlyn, and Darrell Skinner. Sixteen Grandchildren, Shane, Tracy, Aaron, Amanda, Brittany, David, Ryan, Seth, Sawyer, Christopher, Terri Ann, Chad, Jamie, Laci, Heather and Brandon, as well as three great Grandchildren, Avary, Celeste and Diego.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 31, at 10:30 AM at the All Saints Lutheran Church at Eben Ezer. The service will conclude at the church. Inurnment will be in the Brush Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, February 1, at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Monday from 4 – 6 PM.
