Rick
Dillehay
Dec 13, 1966 — Dec 27, 2024
Rick Dillehay, 58, left this earth on December 27, 2024, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley surrounded by family and long-time employees.
Rick was born on December 13, 1966, in Greeley, CO to Don Dillehay and Barbara Duty. He started the family business in construction in 1988.
He enjoyed Vegas, playing blackjack, poker, watching TV, and cultivating marijuana. Early in life he also enjoyed football, powerlifting, and partying.
Rick was always the life of the party. His heart was larger than life itself and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone, including a stranger. He had a spontaneity for finding the goofiest eye glassed he could and responding, "this is style!". Rick was also a great debater. One of our greatest memories that showed his true character was that he spent 99 days in the NICU with his pride and joy, his granddaughter, Ryleigh.
Rick was a survivor of a severe case of COVID, which left him on a ventilator for 17 days. He never gave up on anything, not even life. He fought for 9 hours and 22 minutes without the ventilator before he passed away.
He is survived by his sons, Dillion (Kacie), Derrick; his daughter, Tia; his high school sweetheart, Cindy; beloved niece, Cassie; three grandchildren, Hope, Ryleigh, and Briggs; daughter in law, Amy Dillehay; and three brothers, Paul (Ingrid), Lee, and Shawn (Kelly).
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, DJ Duty, and cousin, Adino Brunelli.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Life Fellowship in Fort Morgan.
