Rick Price, 68, of Fort Morgan, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2024 at his home.

Rick was born April 10, 1955, in Fort Morgan to Mike "Mick" & Wanda Price. He married Jonna Snider on April 16, 1983. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Alaska where they lived in a tent. They were only there for a short time before returning to Colorado where they lived in Gunnison in a camper while Rick worked for the Division of Forestry.

Rick and Jonna later moved to Kremling where they started their family. Their first-born son, Eric was born in May of 1986, then they were blessed with a second son, Zachary in July of 1988.

The family moved back to Fort Morgan in the early 1990's when Rick began to pursue his teaching degree. After getting his teaching degree, he first taught at Fort Morgan Middle School where he also coached football. At that time, he also coached wrestling at the high school. Rick later took a job as a Science Teacher at Fort Morgan High School, continued coaching wrestling, and later became the Athletic director. He won coach of the year several years in a row. Rick left his job at the high school to take a job at Prairie School in New Raymer as the Principal.

Rick stopped working when his wife became ill, and he spent his days caring for her until her death in October of 2013. After Jonna's death, Rick worked odd jobs and took early retirement.

Rick loved to travel. His last trip was to the Galapagos Islands. He was an avid sports fan and he especially enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and the Colorado Avalanche. He also enjoyed playing golf, but his greatest joy was cheering on his grandkids.

Survivors include his sons, Eric Price and wife, Rachel, and Zach Price and wife, Heather; grandchildren, Dominick, Teagan, Evan, and Kaylea; his brother, Randy Price and wife, Stephanie; his sister, Cris Baker and husband, Dan; and sister, Teri Boyd and husband, Duke; and his father, Mick Price.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Horace and Jo Price; his mother, Wanda Price; stepmother, Alicia Price; and his wife, Jonna Price

Rick will be greatly missed by his family but now he gets to cheer everyone on from the best seat, reunited with his wife.

An informal celebration of life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
