Obituary

Robert "Bob" Walker, 85, longtime resident of Brush, Colorado died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. Bob was born September 7, 1925 to John J. and Martha Walker. On December 31, 1952, he married Mary F. Rees in McCook, Nebraska. Bob served our country in the US Army during WWII. He was a very well-known cattleman in northeast Colorado for many years. Under Bob's leadership, The Livestock Exchange, Inc. salebarn was built in 1968 at the east edge of the town of Brush. It was the largest of its kind in the state of Colorado. Bob was a member of the Livestock Marketing Association. Bob is survived by his two sons, John Walker and Allen Walker; his five grandchildren, Terra Walker, Heidi Walker, Bobby Walker, Allison Groves and Kevin Walker and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his parents, four brothers, Jack, Dillard, Bill and Howard and one sister, Virginia Osborne. An informal gathering to celebrate Bob's life will be held Friday, October 15, 2010 at 5:00 PM at the Moose Lodge #1857, 2310 Edison Street in Brush, CO. Memorial gifts may be sent in Bob's name to Heer and Dahl Mortuary, 222 Cameron, Brush, CO 80723. Heer and Dahl Mortuary is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
