Robert Ray Dinnsen, 79, passed away and was carried to heaven by Angels and into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 5, 2023, at St. Elizabeth hospital in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

He was born on June 22, 1943, in Denver, Colorado to Alfred and Vivian Belliveau. Later, his mother remarried, and he was adopted in 1955 by George W. Dinnsen. They lived on a ranch, 25 miles south of Fort Morgan, CO where he learned how to be a rancher and farmer.

He was bussed to Shamrock School, a one room schoolhouse, until eighth grade, then attended Fort Morgan High School and graduated in 1961. Later, he received an associate of arts degree from the College of San Mateo in 1970.

Robert joined the Navy right after high school in 1961 where he learned to be a jet engine mechanic.

He married Nancy Elaine Barrows May 20, 1962, then moved with his new wife to Guam where he was stationed for two years. He was honorably discharged in January of 1965 at Moffett Field, California.

In February 1965 he became a father to their daughter Susan.

Robert worked as an airline mechanic for United Airlines. He advanced to foreman, then inspector. In 1973 he left United to help his father work the ranch in Colorado. After a year and a half, he moved the family back to California where was re-employed at United Airlines. He became an instructor and trained many airline mechanics all over the world until he retired in 2001.

During his time at United Airlines, Robert traveled to many places in the United States as well as outside the country. Some of those places include Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Brazil, and England. Sometimes he was able to take his wife and daughter as well.

Family needs brought Robert and Nancy back to Fort Morgan, CO in 2005.

Robert enjoyed being a member of the VFW and volunteered until he suffered from health issues. He loved going to the Star Athletic Club to use the hot tub and pool which helped with his chronic back pain. His other favorite thing to do were crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed talking to people about Jesus.

Survivors are his daughter Susan (David) Brown, Granddaughter Andrea (Jose) Bonilla and Great grandchildren Jose III, Angel, and Mia of Phoenix, AZ.

Also, nephew Gary (Natalie) Dinnsen of Kansas City, Kansas, nephew Andrew (Mieke) Barrows, Grand-nephews, Jasper and Conner of Portola Valley, CA; niece, Kristin Barrows of Gansevoort, NY.

Proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Alvin Dinnsen, sisters in law Norma Dinnsen and Terry Dinnsen.

A Celebration of Life will be January 17, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church, 1300 E. Riverview Ave., Fort Morgan, CO 80701.
