Robert Donez, 63 of Fort Morgan passed away at Medical Center of the Rockies on January 16th, 2018.

He was born in Scottsbluff, NE on July 12, 1954 and moved with his family to Colorado in 1966. He was an avid athlete and enjoyed being outdoors whether it was fishing, playing baseball or working on cars.

Roberto was mechanically gifted and excelled at everything he tried, from construction and electrical work to farming. He was part owner in a custom bailing and swathing business with his father and also worked as an auto mechanic.

Roberto loved a challenge. He graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1972, one year early due to a clerical error in grade school. True to form, he accepted the challenge and excelled.

He is survived by his two sons, Robert Donez Jr and Adam Donez, both of Fort Morgan; his grandchildren, Allyson, Phoenix, Israel, Jonah and Dominick, 4 brothers; Juan Donez, Alvino (Esther) Donez, of Fort Morgan, Nicolas (Heather) Donez, Jr of Brush, and Jaime (Stephanie) Donez of Denver. 5 sisters; Margarita (John) Conway of Oklahoma City, OK, Diana Donez, Martina (Ronny) Garduno, both of Fort Morgan, Virginia (Scott) Sachtjen of Akron and Anita (Michael) Buck of Evans CO, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicolas Donez Sr. and Claudia Palomo Donez.

Viewing will be from 4-6 P.M on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan with a Rosary at 6 P.M.

Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10 A.M. at Saint Helena Catholic Church with Interment following in Memory Gardens cemetery followed by a luncheon after.
