Robert "Bob" Paul Guzman, 75, was born at home on December 8 ^th , 1947, and passed away at East Morgan County Hospital in Brush surrounded by his family on Saturday March 25 ^th , 2023.

Bob graduated from Brush High School in 1965. He enlisted in the Army in August 1966 and was Honorably Discharged in August of 1969. He completed two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart on May 22 ^nd , 1967 after being wounded in combat while on ambush duty. He was also awarded three Air Medals for participating in Aerial Flight as a Door Gunner during his tours, one of which was for Heroism.

When Bob returned home to his family, he worked at Sigman's Packing Plant for a few years. He changed careers and was employed as a Lineman with Xcel Energy ( formerly Public Service). He retired from Xcel Energy to be a full-time grandpa to his loving grandchildren. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. For nearly forty years, Bob and his beloved wife hosted an annual Christmas celebration for his siblings and their children. Retirement also allowed Bob to be the biggest fan to his grandchildren at sporting events.

Bob was a man who was greatly respected by his siblings, nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren, and friends of his grandchildren. His grandsons describe their "Papa" as a humble man and great teacher, who was patient and kind. They also recall his great sense of humor and wit that made them smile. He was also described by them as a man who loved unconditionally. Bob was also available to help with whatever needed to be done. You could find him out on the tractor, mowing weeds, moving sod, or hanging out with Biggie Smalls (great-grand dog) while his humans were at work.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Theresa Guzman; Son, Bobby (Kandy) Guzman; daughter, Leslie Hirschfeld (John); Grandchildren: John Jr, Chloe, Wylder & Oaks Hirschfeld, Ryan & Katie Hirschfeld; BJ Hirschfeld; Kenedi, Jake, Reagan & Taos Schnieder; Niko Guzman and Gunnar Guzman. Sisters: Marlene Acosta (Felix), Beatrice Carrillo (Joe), Aurelia Lopez (Nacho), Jenny Mejia (Rod), Virginia Rosales (Mike), Rose Alexander (Charlie), Gloria Petesch (Jim); Sister-in-laws: Marty Guzman, Dorothy Guzman and Linda Guzman; Brothers: Santos Guzman (Susan), Frank Guzman (Brenda), Benjamin Guzman (Jami); Brother-in-law: Margarito Torrez.

He was preceded in death by his parents Santos and Celsa Guzman, sister Angelita Torrez, brothers: Florentino Guzman, Florenz Guzman and Nate Guzman.

The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Thursday at 10:30am prior to the Mass of Chrisitan Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11:00am. Inurnment will follow at the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
