Robert (Bob) Lee Halley died on June 13 ^th , 2021, peacefully at home. Bob was born August 27th, 1930, in Olney Springs, Colorado born to Albert S. and Oma E. Halley. His childhood was spent on the family farm in Ordway and in Kremmling while his father worked building the Green Mountain Reservoir. Moving to the Brighton farm, he was a state FFA ag mechanics award winner and graduated from Brighton High School. Then drafted into the Army where he was stationed in Germany and received an honorable discharge in 1955.  He returned to the family ranch in Walden and married Florence Harris in 1957 and was blessed with five children.

Bob was a rancher/farmer by heart but worked numerous jobs in his lifetime. As a young man, Bob ran a milk route for his brother's company and worked in the oil fields and mined in the Uranium Mines near Grants, New Mexico.  In 1964, he moved his family from a ranch at Fairplay to a farm west of Woodrow, CO farming for Walter Stites and continued to farm/ranch in the Woodrow and Gary area until 1995. He also drove school bus for Woodlin School. He worked for Century Housing Manufacturing in the 70's. He helped build the Pawnee Power Plant in Brush and Ignacio pipeline near Durango, CO. He cleared timber in the La Veta area. In 1985, he was a Teamster, the lead driver of a team of Clydesdale Horses that pulled the starting gate for the Oaklawn Racehorse Track in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He worked the night shift in the box room at the Beef Plant in Fort Morgan for many years. After retirement he resided in Brush CO, was a summer ranch hand in Kremmling, and drove truck for the Teague Family out of Fort Morgan.

Bob loved the green wheat, time on a tractor, mending a fence, working with livestock, and the back of a horse. A day at the sale barn was always a special day. He attended livestock shows and sales nationwide including State Fairs, National Western Stock Show, World Pork Expo in Des Moines, IA., National Mondale Show in Springfield Il, Mid-West Stud Ram Sale in Salida, MO, Top of the Rockies, National Rambouillet Show in Norfolk, ND, CSP Summer Type Conference, Fall Classic Duncan Ok., and numerous show pig and lambs' sales in Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. There are many that miss him in the CPS family. He attended too many county fairs and jackpots to count. He drove hundreds of thousands of miles well into his 80's. doing chores when needed, traveling many roads to Lubbock Tx, Gunnison, Kremmling, Kersey, and Alamosa.

Bob loved to hunt and fish. He loved football season and the Denver Broncos.  A member of the Woodlin Lions Club and served as Sheep Superintendent/4-H leader for Washington County for over 20 years.  He received Honorary FFA State Degree in 1978. Bob lived for his kids to the point that "no" was seldom heard. He was non materialistic, he would give everything he had to them, even to the point of him doing without himself and found joy in the success of his family. He never hesitated to say, "I Love You". He attended many 4-H, FFA, sporting events and any other interest his kids or grandkids participated in. He was known for his caught Ing smile and laughter. Loved telling stories and sharing his families lives with others. Bob knew of no stranger and had no enemies. He hated conflict and confrontation and avoided both. Spent his later years solving the problems of the world over a cup of coffee at Drover's Café.

He is survived by his sister Beverly Lane and family of Saint Joseph, MO; Florence Halley of Brush, one daughter, Gayla and Bill Crutchfield Akron, CO; three sons, Bill Halley of Brush, CO; Robin & Kara Halley of Brush, CO; and Alan & Gail Halley of Kersey, CO; twenty-six grandchildren and great grand kids. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, siblings John and Shirley, and oldest son Robert Lee Halley, Jr. (Bobby)
