Robert H. Hansen Sr., 87, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Cheyenne, WY. He was born December 13, 1927, in Brush, to Henry & Helen Hansen. Following graduation from Brush High School, Bob attended CSU for 1 year. He then joined the US Navy. Everyone in the Navy was looking forward to retiring and buying a farm. Bob realized he already had a farm. So, when he was honorably discharged he came back to Morgan County to continue working the family farm with his brothers. On November 27, 1955, Bob married Lila Joyce Henness and celebrated life with her and their children for the rest of their lives. Bob was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Cattleman's Association, and the American Legion Sagebrush Post #68. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and telling stories at coffee. He especially enjoyed laughing and spending time with his family and friends.. Survivors include his 4 children, Robert Hansen Jr. of Brush; Jenneane Musegades, and her husband Mike, of Grangeville, ID, James M. Hansen of Arlington, VA, and Steven G. Hansen of Bangkok, Thailand; 1 brother, Edward Hansen of Brush and 1 sister, Mary Williams of Snyder; 4 grandchildren, Heather Mah, James W. Hansen, Michelle Musegades and Lila Jill Musegades; and 3 great grandchildren, Hunter Lohrenz, Ezri Hansen, and Lucian Hansen.. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, 2 brothers, Lloyd & Walter; and his parents. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 22, 2014, at 10:30 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush. Interment with military honors by the US Navy and the VFW #3551 & American Legion #68 will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Sunday from 3 - 5 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Bob Hansen Memorial Fund c/o the Heer Mortuary.
