Robert "Bob" Herbst, 92, life resident of Brush, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. He was born August 6, 1925, in Brush to Jacob & Katherine Herbst.

Bob served in the US Army during WW II from 1943 with the 709th Tank Battalion Company D until his honorable discharge in 1945. Bob graduated from Brush High School. On August 20, 1949, he married Betty M. Bass in Fort Morgan. Prior to retirement, Bob worked for Carroll Oil Company for over 40 years.

Bob was a life member of VFW #3551. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his yard. Additionally, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sporting events. He especially enjoyed his family whether they were hunting and fishing together, watching them play in sports, or just simply sitting on the porch talking.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Brush; 4 daughters, Arlene (Andrew Sandoval) Herbst, Esther (Dwight) Andersen, Barbara (Roger) Holter and Kimberly (Chuck) Harbert all of Brush; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 5 brothers, and his parents.
