Robert "David" Howard passed peacefully at the age of 72 at Seven Lakes Memory Care in Loveland, Colorado, on November 25, 2025. He was born on September 11, 1953, in Pampa, Texas. David is survived by his wife, Patricia Lois "Patsy" (Brownlow) Howard of 42 years; his children Robert James Howard, Mendee Keren (Howard) Wacker (husband Jared Wacker) and David Allen Howard (wife Lila Ness Howard); his grandchildren Lexi, Travis and Trevor Wacker, and Everett and Lincoln Howard. His sister Marsha Gene (Howard) Tennant (husband Ricky) and brother Don Ed Howard and brother-in-law, Randy Jones. He was proceeded in death by his father Robert Lanious Howard and mother Eddie Maxine (Laflin) Howard, and sister Pixie Ann (Howard) Jones and her first husband Sammy Stoner.

David was most known for being an Angels Among Us (2019). Anyone who knew him, knew his insatiable need to help people through acts of service, from working on cars, to carpentry, to cooking and feeding others, his time in the military, his dedication to the church and his family.

Out of high school David served 6 years of service in the Army stationed in Ft. Richardson, Alaska, where he was a Truck Vehicle Mechanic and enjoyed cooking for his buddies.  He received a National Defense Service Medal, and was honorably discharged in 1978. Once out of the army he went to Texas State Technical Institute in Amarillo, Texas, where he received a Mechanic Degree and worked in a mechanic garage. At that garage, he was told of a job opening with Colorado Interstate Gas who he worked for 39 years until retirement in 2018. Colorado Interstate Gas changed ownership several times and moved he and his family from several locations in Texas to Ft. Morgan, Colorado, to Lakin, Kansas, then finally ending back in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

David first and foremost loved the Lord and giving acts of service especially helping people with their vehicles, food, and help with hard labor. He loved his family, carpentry, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, cooking, camping, fishing, water skiing, reading the Bible, music, both singing and listening to music. He enjoyed target practice and reloading ammunition. He was very involved in church in every town he lived in from Baptist to Methodist. He led youth groups, cooked for the Youth Group and Men's and Women's Breakfast, sang in the choir, played the key board and sang in the Praise Team Band, directed Bell Choir, was Treasurer, Usher, Deacon and other roles on the church board, ran the sound system, taught High School and Adult Sunday School Classes, helped with the services at Valley View and Bee Hive, caroling, yard sales, helped Patsy with Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, helped decorate the church at Christmas, helped with Holiday Programs, helped Puppet Team, camp, provided rides for various people, drove the church bus, in addition to numerous other volunteer roles.  David served as Treasurer for the Marlin Swim Team and helped at Swim Meets and helped with Girl Scouts.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Platte Valley Baptist Church in Fort Morgan, Colorado 80701.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, August 7, at 2:00 p.m. at the Miami Cemetery in Miami, Texas 79059.
