Robert Martin Johnson, 91, longtime area resident, died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at his home in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

He was born March 18, 1925 in Fort Morgan to Harry and Alma (Dahms) Johnson.

Robert married Norma Jean Knox on January 19, 1947 in Fort Morgan. She died in 2004.

Robert was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan.

He was also a member of Rotary Club, and was on the Wiggins School Board and the MCC Board.

Robert loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Otherwise, he was one of those people that enjoyed keeping busy with work, woodworking and gardening.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol Knox-Johnson of Denver, and Kathy Johnson of Tryone, North Carolina, three sons, James Johnson (Cindy) of Highlands Ranch, Alan Johnson (Karen) of Tucson, Arizona, and David Johnson (Evelyn) of Highlands Ranch, one brother, Gilbert Johnson (Becky) of San Leandro, California, one sister-in-law, Elsie Johnson of Fort Morgan, five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean, eldest son, Robert Jr., two brothers, one sister, and his parents.

There will be a visitation on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan.

Funeral Services will follow Friday, April 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
