Robert Loose, 91, lifelong area resident died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. He was born May 26, 1918 in Brush to George and Marie (Goebel) Loose. He attended Fort Morgan schools. In 1935, his family moved to Wiggins to a farm with irrigation wells, which was one of the first irrigated farms in the area. On April 16, 1939, Robert married Ada Mildred Ledford in Wiggins. He farmed with his father for three years and then bought their present farm in Wiggins where he and his two sons have a family farming and cattle feeding operation. Robert was a charter member of the Wiggins Community Church in Wiggins, and has been a member of the Fort Morgan Elks Lodge #1143 for over 70 years. Robert enjoyed traveling in their RV, elk hunting and going to cattle sales. He loved his family and they were very special to him, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Ada Loose, of Fort Morgan; daughters, Gloria Jurado of Greeley, Nancy Miller of Fort Morgan, Diane Vance and Janet Rohn, both of Wiggins; his sons, Robert R. Loose and Dale E. Loose, both of Wiggins; sisters, Esther Severn of Portsmouth, VA, Helen Feeback and Frieda Erker and Dorothy Weber, all of Fort Morgan; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, numerous step- grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert, Arnold, Elmer and George Loose and one sister, Betty Greenwalt. There will be a visitation on Sunday, April 4, 2010 from 4 until 6 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 5, 2010 at 10:30 am at the Wiggins Community Church in Wiggins. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
