Robert James Mearsha, 65, longtime area resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 28, 2016,surrounded by love in Aspen Rehab at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Fort Morgan.
He was born August 30, 1950 in Denver to Frank and Irene Mearsha.
He married Cynthia K. McAllister on November 17, 1969 in Denver.
Bob was a strong and determined man. He was passionate about life and always learning. An avid pilot, he loved flying, especially through and over the mountains. He loved working with his hands and fulfilled a life-long dream of building his own home with the help of his wife. He was an astute businessman and loved to go to work every day. He always said that if you love what you do it is not work. He started his own business, M&S Electric, in December of 1976 at age 27. After 40 years, his business has seen tremendous growth and is still thriving today. He was instrumental in opening and maintaining two other businesses, The Rose Garden, and All Pro Automotive. He loved golf, especially the mental challenge of the game. He was a part time dreamer, philosopher and realist.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Cynthia of 46 years, son, Dr. Ron Mearsha (Susan), and daughter, Cari Christensen (Dale). He was "Grandbob" to Claire, Samuel, Emma, Lillee, Grayson, and Mathew.
He is also survived by his mother Irene Mearsha, brother, Frank Mearsha, (Rosemary) his sisters, Barbara Jones, (Ken), Kathy Dillard (Ron), his brother-in-law, Anthony Pacheco, father-in-law, Leonard McAllister, sisters-in-law, Melody Clifford (Gary), and LouAnn Carelli-Raub (Vince), brother-in-law, Jerry McAllister (Suzanne), and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Joseph Mearsha and his sister JoAnn Pacheco.
Memorial Services will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Sanctuary, located at 14587 Highway 34 in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the church.
Memorial gifts can be made to the Fort Morgan Municipal Airport in care of the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.
