Robert O. Mendoza, 84, lifetime Morgan County resident, passed away, Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his home in Fort Morgan. He was born September 20, 1928 in Goodrich, Colorado to Joaquin and Ramona (Ortiz) Mendoza. He enjoyed his work as a farmer and spending time with his family and friends. He liked to get to Central City whenever he could and watch the Denver Nuggets basketball games. Robert married Cleo Acosta on January 14, 1955 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. He is survived by, one son, Robert Mendoza Jr., three daughters, Mona Almeida, Patricia Mendoza and Terri Mendoza, two brothers, Henry and Abel Mendoza, 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, two sisters and his parents. Visitation will be Sunday, August 4, 2013, at 3 - 6 pm at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan, with a Rosary to follow at 6 pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, August 5, 2013 at 10:30 am at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
