Robert L. Petersen, 87, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, at the East Morgan County Hospital. He was born August 13, 1926, in Brush to Arthur & Aster Petersen. Bob served in the US Navy from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1946. Bob was a truck driver and served as the production supervisor for Green-It Turf Products before he retired. On August 5, 1956, Bob married Erna Meinhardt in Park City, MT. In 1965 the Petersen family moved back to Brush where they have lived since. Bob shared with many that the highlight of his life was when he met and married his wife! Bob was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder and an usher for many years. He enjoyed working in his garden, collecting tractors, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Erna of Brush; 3 children, Steve, and his wife Terri of Orlando, FL; Karen Jugert, and her husband Louis of Littleton, CO, and Jim of Loveland; 1 brother, Arnold Petersen of Torrington, WY; 4 sisters, Alberta Miller & Shirley Schilling both of Brush; Wilma Reid of Baggs, WY, and Patricia Belvill of Delta, CO; and his 4 grandchildren, Ashley Jugert, Mitchell Jugert, Michael Petersen and Alexandra Petersen. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Eldon, and his parents. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 8, 2014, at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Graveside services with military honors by the US Navy will be at the Brush Memorial Cemetery. The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
