Robert Wayne Sheppard peacefully passed away, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 81 on Sunday April 21, 2024, at East Morgan County Hospital.

Robert was born April 11, 1943, in Fort Morgan Colorado to Daniel and Helen (Bauer) Sheppard.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother's Kenneth and Daniel and his sister Donna Depperschmidt.

He is survived by his daughters Christina Braun and Amy Sagel (Darin). His 4 grandchildren Joshua Sagel (Dawnelle), Paulina Lanyon (Jason), Adam Mai, and Nicholas Sagel (Victoria). And his great grandchildren Keason, Sylvia, Kellen, Sullivan, and Brenna.

Robert was a very stubborn and independent man. He moved once in his life and that was from the family farm and around the corner where he continued to do as he loved, the daily chores of farming. He was injured in an accident in May of 1979, which left him as a triple amputee. This did not slow him down and he continued to farm for many more years. He had a very strong will and was determined to carry on.

Robert loved his family and did whatever he could to help them along the way. If you were called to help him with anything he would listen to your suggestions but, in the end, it would ultimately be his way. He loved a good argument and hidden in these "discussions" was always something new to ponder, or scratch you head in wonder.

Robert became a resident of South Platte Health and Rehabilitation in Brush Colorado in August of 2023. The staff quickly learned that he was in control, but he would soon become a very loved resident and for that he loved them in return. The staff treated him with great patience, dignity and respect and the family will be forever grateful.
