ROBERT MEDINA VARGAS, 90, former area resident, died Thursday evening, September 29, 2011 at the Garden Terrace in Aurora. He was born in Texas on September 17, 1921 to Esteban & Maria (Medina) Vargas. In his younger years, Mr. Vargas enjoyed playing tennis and training. While in his 20's, he was a golden glove boxer known as "Eddie Montana". He also enjoyed reading. He worked at Boxer Feed Lot for a number of years before his retirement. Mr. Vargas is survived by his brother, Luis Vargas of Colorado Springs, CO; his sister, Esperanza Vargas of Grand Island, NE, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Vargas; two sisters, Carmela Garza and Cruzita Vargas, and his parents. There are no services scheduled at this time. The Heer & Dahl Mortuaries were in charge of cremation arrangements.
