Robert G. Wilde, 77 of Weldona died Sunday morning at his home in Weldona. He was born December 31, 1929 Ft. Atkinson, WI, to George and Erna Wilde.He served in the National Guard for one year and then in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant with the 44th Field Maintenance Squadron during the Korean conflict. He married Margaret Wright October 4, 1951 in Newmarket, England. He worked for the Jamesway Company as a foreman installing farm related Equipment all around the world. He and his wife settled in Weldona near her home town. He also worked for the Dexheimer Welding shop, the Weldon Valley School doing maintenance, and for the Christensen Brothers. He had a passion for aircraft, he enjoyed building and flying model aircraft, and most of all telling stories about them. He liked to take care of his garden and growing roses, and he was a avid reader. He was a member of the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Weldona, the VFW Post #2551 and the local remote control flying club. He is survived by his wife Margaret, children, Erna Morgan, Linda Ruiz, Donna Deganhart, and Matthew Wilde all of Weldona, Jean Christensen, and Glenn Wilde both of Penrose, and Irene Allgaier of Greeley, 3 sisters, June Koepple of Ft. Atkinson, WI, Virginia Scott, and Ellen Gerard both of Jefferson, WI, 21 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 children John Wilde, Mary Wilde and Lorraine Granados, and his parents. A Memorial Mass Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am At the Saint Helena Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan. The service will conclude at the church.
