Roger L. Kumke, 68, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at his home in Brush. He was born in Brush on October 1, 1947, to Arvis & Bonnie Kumke.
Roger lived and attended school in Snyder. He began his working career in some of the Brush area feedlots. On October 18, 1965, he married Lequita Denning in Fort Morgan. Roger then began working in the construction industry, mostly in Colorado, Nebraska, and Arizona. In August 1988, Roger was severely injured in a construction accident and was forced to retire. In 2002 he moved back to Colorado.
Roger enjoyed camping, fishing, watching movies, old western television shows, and watching the Denver Broncos.
Survivors include his Mother, Bonnie Trout of Snyder; 3 children, Angie (Alan) Brouillet of Canon City, CO, Rodney Kumke of Omaha, NE, and Brenda Lockridge of Kingman, AZ; 1 brother, Myron of Phoenix, AZ; 1 sister, Roberta Janzen of Snyder; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by infant son Roger Jr.; one brother Adelbert, and his father's Arvis Kumke, and Lee Trout.
Funeral service will be Monday, December 14, 2015, at 10:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Chapel on Sunday from 4 -6 PM.
