Obituary

Roger was born in Brush Colorado in 1950 to Wilbur and Betty (Nichols) Schreiner. He had 6 brothers: Tim, identical twin Robin, Dwight, Bert, Harold and Glenn. He attended Fort Morgan High School graduating in 1968 before joining the US Army where he did communications during the Vietnam War.

After exiting the military, he worked for Schmeekle Construction until he started working for American Beef packing in Fort Morgan where he would eventually earn his engineering title.  He then worked for Swift Meat Packing followed by Cargil Meat Solutions as a corporate engineer in Fort Morgan, CO. After working for Cargil, he began working for American Food Groups where he worked until his retirement in 2019.

Roger's first marriage was to Patti Lapp on August 28th 1972. They shared together a daughter Stephanie McVickers. In 2004, he met the love of his life Rese'. They were married on June 30th 2006. Through this marriage he gained three additional children, Eric Weber, Alexandria Deal, and Katlynne Thompson. During these 20 years spent together, Roger and Rese' enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends, including motorcycle rides around Colorado and spending every chance they could with their grandchildren.

Being a grandpa was Roger's favorite role. He loved his grandbabies more than life itself. He had two grandsons- Silas and Tanner. He also had three granddaughters. Harleigh, Carter, and Brynnleigh. He was also ecstatic for the newest arrival due in June – Baby Davis #2. He treasured his time spent playing barbies and doing yard work with his girls. He never missed an opportunity to have conversations with the babies. He loved watching them all grow and learn.

Roger was an active member of the Brush VFW, devoting his time and energy to the veterans of his local community.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur and his mother, Betty. He is also proceeded in death by his brother, Glenn Schreiner.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Rese' Schreiner, daughter Stephanie (Dan) McVickers of Fort Collins CO, stepson, Eric (Brit) Weber of Log Lane Village CO, stepdaughter, Alexandria (Kyle) Deal of Severance CO, and stepdaughter, Katlynne (Quinn) Thompson of Brush CO. He is also survived by his brothers, Tim (Jeanette) Schreiner, Robin Schreiner, Dwight (Sue) Schreiner, Harold (Pam) Schreiner, and Bert Schreiner. He is survived by multiple nieces and nephews, and grandchildren, Silas and Tanner Weber, Harleigh and Brynnleigh Erickson, and Carter Davis.

Services will be held at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan on Monday, January 27th, 2025, at 10:30 AM.  Inurnment will follow in Serenity Falls Columbarium.
