Obituary

Ronald Sherald Gibson, 68, longtime area resident, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family in Fort Morgan.

He was born August 20, 1948 in Olney, Illinois, to Sherman and Velma (Brady) Gibson.

Ron moved with his family from Olney, Illinois to Fort Morgan in 1955. He was married to Barbara Couch (Cummings) from 1970 to 1984 and had one daughter. Ron was married to Marjorie Schlagel (Campbell) from 1985 -1989.

Ron married Melanie Lewis, the love of his life, on January 11, 1991 in Las Vegas. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary very much still in love. Ron and Melanie attended Resurrection Fellowship where Ron was active in the media department, as well as the baptism ministry. He was often referred to as "Ron the Baptist".

He took pleasure in his chosen career as a Master Lineman for the Morgan County REA for thirty years, retiring in 2005.

Ron enjoyed taking long trips on the Harley with his girl, reading voraciously, finding new Christian Rock n' Roll, and increasing his history buff status. He could debate theology and politics, while retaining his commitment to love his fellow man.

Survivors include his wife Melanie, one daughter, Terri Lynn Gibson (Darin Gilliland), one son, Brady Forrest Gibson, one brother, Thomas Lloyd Gibson (Carol Wernecke-Gibson) of Marietta Georgia, and one half -brother, LeRoy Gibson. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Richard) Hessling, Taylor (Tanner) Rubeck, Jeremy Hundley and Jory Hundley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Services will be Monday, November 14, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Resurrection Fellowship Church at 6502 E. Crossroads Blvd., in Loveland, Colorado.
