RAM, affectionately known by many, passed away in his home on October 18, 2023, surrounded by his family.  Ron was a Designer/Builder in Fort Morgan and surrounding areas for over 50 years.  Telling stories to family and friends was a talent thatbegan early in his life.  Ron was a visionary in his design and construction of homes, leaving a legacy of architecture throughout the county.  Hard work, solid values, and doing the best in everything was the motto he lived by.

Ron was born in Shenandoah, IA, on June 17, 1941, the oldest of six children to Ted and Evelyn McConkey.  Ron met his wife Becky in High School, became high school sweethearts, and spent 61 beautiful years together.  They traveled west in 1963and made Fort Morgan their home.  They had two children:Shawn, married to Nancy (Benham) and Stacey; grandchildren Trent, Lindy, and Hope; great-granddaughters Lincoln and Carter.

A private family service for Ron was held at Riverside and Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
