Ronald D. Toepfer, 83, of Fort Morgan, died at his home, Tuesday, November 23, 2021. He was born in Fort Morgan on July 24, 1938 to Charles & Bertha (Pope) Toepfer.

Ronald served in the U.S. Army from 1960 until his honorable discharge in 1963. He married Virginia Bellender on January 29, 1973 in Greeley. They made their home in Fort Morgan and Ronald worked in the gas department for the City of Fort Morgan for 35 years before his retirement.

Ronald was a member of Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. He will be loving remembered by his family and friends as a practical jokester; always happy, with a smile on his face; an all-around good family man, husband, and dad.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia Toepfer of Fort Morgan; son, Terry (Sheila) Foos of Greeley; son-in-law, Ward Waite of Elizabeth; brother, Leroy (Billie) Toepfer of Greeley; sister, Doris Parachini of Fort Morgan; and four grandchildren, Sean Rocha of Denver, Brandon (Karen) Waite of Elizabeth, Joshua Foos of Greeley, and Zachary (Tiffany) Foos of Greeley.

He was preceded in death his parents; his daughter, Theresa Waite; and two brothers, Dale Toepfer and Bill Toepfer.

There will be cremation. There will not be a formal service.
