Ronda Renee Hawker, 43, former resident of Brush, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2006 near Apache Junction, AZ. She was born November 7, 1962, in Brush. Ronda was a registered nurse. She had worked at Sterling Regional Medical Center and was formerly director of nursing at Sunset Manor. At the time of her death she was chief executive of nursing at Gilbert, AZ, Emergency Center near Phoenix. Ronda loved being a caregiver. She had a terrific sense of humor, which is how she dealt with life most all her life. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, shopping, traveling, especially going to Mexico, and spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren. Ronda was an avid Denver Bronco fan. Survivors include her husband, Jim Hawker of Mesa, AZ; 2 daughters, Halley Gutierrez of Mesa, AZ and Holly DeBello of Granbury, TX; her parents, Larry & Patty Chartier of Brush; 1 sister, Kari Linker of Brush; 2 brothers, Greg Chartier of Sterling, CO, and Scott Chartier of Erie, CO; and 3 grandchildren, Allysa DeBello, Joe DeBello, and Faith Snook. She was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Mikey DeBello. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary on Thursday from 3 – 5 PM. The Heer Mortuary in Brush is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
