Rosalie Cardenas Vaca, 69, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at her home in Fort Morgan.
She was born November 14, 1949 in Weslaco, Texas to Camilo and Ninfa (Hart) Cardenas.
She married Simon Vaca on January 15, 1972, in Texas. After they married they moved to San Jacinto, California. Rosalie was a Headstart teacher's aide and teacher for close to thirty years. She very much enjoyed working with children
Rosalie was a member and past president of the Hemet Lion's Club and enjoyed traveling internationally with club for philanthropic trips. Rosalie enjoyed socializing, cooking and playing softball. She was well known for telling hilarious jokes and making the most delicious food.
Rosalie and Simon moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado, shortly after their second grandchild was born. Rosalie spent a lot of time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed trips to Black Hawk and she always seemed to do pretty well.
Survivors include her husband, Simon Vaca of Fort Morgan; one daughter, Oneida Petrino and husband, Travis of Weldona; two sisters, Lilian Garza and Mary Alice Gonzales; three brothers, Reynaldo Cardenas, George Cardenas, and Jimmy Cardenas all who live in Texas, and two grandchildren, Isabella and Luca Petrino.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Sanctuary Church in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the church
