ROSALIE MARIE WESTHOFF, 80, of Weldona, died early Tuesday morning, November 30, 2010 at her home. She was born February 5, 1930 in Keenesburg to Joseph & Margaret(Mercus) Ewertz. She married Earnest Westhoff on April 18, 1963 in Wiggins. Mrs. Westhoff spent her days as a devoted homemaker, mother, and farmwife. She was a member of Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Rose loved horses and she often spoke of her younger days of riding them. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and making homemade noodles. She wholeheartedly believed that no one could mash potatoes quite like she could. Rose also had a heart for serving others. She enjoyed babysitting kids and visiting people and bringing them food when they were ill. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Schmer and son-in-law, Richard; four grandchildren, Amber, Kendrick, Joel, and Ashley, all of Weldona; and two brothers, Bernard Ewertz and Lee Ewertz, both of Wiggins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, Raymond Ewertz; her brother, Arthur Ewertz; her sister, Mary Westhoff, and her husband. Visitation will be Thursday, December 2nd from 4 – 7 PM with a Rosary Vigil at 7:00 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, December 3rd at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 340 Stanford Street in Brush. Interment will follow in the Hoyt Cemetery.
