It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Rosetta "Rosa" Ferracini, on June 1, 2026.

Rosetta was born on October 17, 1933, in Graffignana, Italy, to Giuseppe and Teresa Galetta. She was the eldest of two children and grew up in war-torn Italy.

In 1954, while working at a leather handbag factory in Milan, Italy, she was introduced to Severino "Rocky" Ferracini. The two were married in October 1954 and immigrated to the United States in November 1955. They proudly became United States citizens in 1962.

After arriving in the United States, Rosa devoted herself to raising three children while supporting her husband in the restaurant business. Over the years, they owned and operated several local establishments, including the Woodrow Café, The Gondola, and the Scotch-N-Steer. Rosa often worked behind the scenes—cleaning the dining room and kitchen, preparing salads, and stepping in whenever employees were unavailable. She took great pride in maintaining high standards and was especially proud that, under her watch, the county health inspector consistently awarded their restaurants an "A" rating.

Rosa enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, bowling, and watching television. She often credited cartoons and I Love Lucy with helping her learn English after arriving in the United States. She loved cooking for her family and was always searching for new recipes in cookbooks and on the Cooking Channel.

In retirement, one of the highlights of Rosa's week was having her hair done at Audrey's Hairport in Brush, where she also enjoyed catching up on local news and sharing stories with friends.

Rosa was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Rocky. She is survived by her sons, Ric (Joy) and Terry (Mary Kay); her daughter, Rosanna; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Rosa will always be remembered for her quick wit, her frequent remark that "my English is not so good," her love of wine, and her joy in singing Italian songs. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Mass of Christian Burial for both Rosa and Rocky will be held on June 26, 2026, at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Brush at 10 am, followed by inurnment at Brush Memorial Cemetery.
