Jul 22, 1945 — Nov 14, 2024
Rosina M. Hernandez, 79, a longtime resident of Morgan County, died Thursday, November 14th, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.
Rosina (Rosie) was born July 22nd, 1945, in Dixon, New Mexico, to Rogelio Rodarte and Lusita Rodarte (Medina). During her childhood, her family would move to Fort Morgan, Colorado, where she graduated from Fort Morgan High School.
On November 6th, 1965, Rosina married Edward Hernandez. They lived in Wiggins, until building their home in Fort Morgan. She worked 30+ years with the Morgan County School District as a teacher's assistant. Rosina had a great passion for teaching youth and was well known in the community for it. Before retiring from the district, she began working at Walmart in the crafts section, where she worked for 10+ years.

She loved cooking and was always trying out new recipes. She made the best homemade tortillas, that she perfected to be flawlessly round. She loved spending time with family and friends, even if it was just sitting around and talking while enjoying a cup of coffee or a Diet Pepsi.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Hernandez and Edward D. Hernandez; her granddaughter, Nicole Gerken, all of Fort Morgan; and Haylie, her constant shadow fur ever friend.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Edward Hernandez; her son, Kenneth Hernandez; her parents, Rogelio and Lusita Rodarte; and her siblings, Henry, Gilbert, and Willie Rodarte, Mary Sanchez, Laura Montez, and infant sister.
