Roy E. Wohlford, 92, lifelong area resident, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Wiggins on July 6, 1925 to George & Pearl (Osborn) Wohlford. He attended school in Wiggins until he joined the U.S. Army. After his service he returned to school and graduated from Wiggins High School in 1947. Roy began his work on a ranch in 1949 and thus, began his love for livestock, horses, and rodeo.

Roy married Ruth Graff on February 24, 1958 in Yuma, AZ. They lived in California for a short time before returning to the area in 1959.

Roy was a truck driver for Northwest Transportation for 23 years. He had also worked for Denver Milk Producers, Bill Baker, and Graff's Turf Farms.

Roy was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge #1143 and the V.F.W. Post 2551. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, bowling, softball, and watching the Rockies. He loved to compete in rodeos and race stock cars in his younger years. Roy enjoyed fellowship with the Christian Cowboys and especially cherished time spent with his family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Frank (Sharon) Wohlford of Log Lane, Debra Davis of Denver, Pam (Bob) Koelzer of Eaton, and Patti Wohlford of Log Lane; five sisters, Goldie Buckendorf, Georgina Taylor, Alice Kitzman, Margaret Glance, and Sara Lee Tibbetts; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; four sisters, Ethel Austin, Beulah Anderson, and Sylvia and Bonnie Wohlford; his brothers, Dale Campbell, and Bill, Wendel, and Roger Wohlford; his son, Bill Wohlford; his daughter, Ruthie Rinehart; and his grandsons, Randy Lee Greene and Cory Wohlford.

"Last night Papa decided it was time for his final ride. He pulled his cowboy hat down tight, got that grip tight on his rigging, leaned back and gave the nod to the man upstairs. A life full of ranchin' cows, ridin' broncs, and raising a family. 92 is helluva ride! Rest easy cowboy, we love ya." – L.K.

Visitation will be Friday, July 6th from 5 – 7 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 7th at 10:00 AM, also at the chapel. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.

A celebration of Roy's life will be at the Country Steak Out in Fort Morgan after the Interment.
