Ruben Perez, age 61, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, surrounded by family. He was born in Brush, Colorado on August 2, 1955, to Jesus and Teodosia Perez of Hillrose, Colorado.

Ruben grew up in Hillrose and attended the University of Colorado, Harvard Law School, and the Kennedy School of Government. He worked most of his career as an attorney in Corpus Christi. Ruben was a devoted father, a loving uncle and brother, and spent his lifetime mentoring family and friends.

Survived by his daughters Valentina, Theresita, Sarita; mother Teodosia, siblings Elpidia, Maria, Ricardo, Jesse, Rodolfo (Karyn), Gloria (Ramon), Rosa, sister-in-law Rosalie; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jesus and brother Ausencio.

We move forward knowing he will always be with us, in our hearts and minds guiding us.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush on Saturday, December 31, 2016, at 9:00 AM.  Inurnment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery..  Please pray for his family.
