Ruby (Tormohlen) Moore, 97, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away Monday, May 14, 2007, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. She was born July 16. 1909, in Mayetta, Kansas to Aaron & Ethel Mummert. In 1914 the Mummert family moved to south of Fort Morgan where her father homesteaded 320 acres of land. She attended rural schools and graduated from Fort Morgan High School. ON February 18, 1935, Ruby married Homer M. Tormohlen in Wray, CO. They farmed south of Fort Morgan, then later following Homer's death, Ruby moved into Fort Morgan. She married John Moore in Fort Morgan in 1979. After his death, Ruby moved to the Tabor Apartments at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fort Morgan for over 70 years, and was active in various women's groups, served as a deaconess and was named a deaconess emeritus. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Fort Morgan Community Hospital (now known as Colorado Plains Medical Center), at the Meet & Eat Program and later at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center. Survivors include her 2 sons, Donald H. Tormohlen of Denver, Edward M. Tormohlen of Keller, TX; a step-son, Alvin Moore of Denver; 1 sister, Agnes Columbia of Brush; 6 grandchildren ..and 16 great grandchildren. In additional to her husbands preceding her in death, she was also preceded in death by a son, Laurence R. Tormohlen in 1993, and her parents. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 17, 2007, at 10:30 AM at the First Christian Church, 225 W. Bijou in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.
