Ruth Brandt, 101 years of age, lifetime resident of Fort Morgan, CO, passed away peacefully at Harmony Home. Ruth was born to Peter and Marie Ruhl on October 14, 1923, and entered her Heavenly home on November 8, 2024.

She married the love of her life, Harry Brandt, also from Fort Morgan, on October 22, 1943, while he was still enlisted in the Army Air Force as a Bombardier/Navigator. Following his honorable discharge in 1945, they returned to Fort Morgan and began life on the farm. Early in their marriage they became committed followers of Jesus Christ and shared 68 years of building a Christian legacy and creating treasured memories. They had two children, Cynthia (Cindy) Lind and Steven Brandt.

Ruth and Harry were active, lifelong members of Immanuel Evangelical Church. She loved participating in the Ladies Fellowship, teaching Sunday School, singing in the Adult and Ladies Choir, and worshipping with fellow believers in Christ. They also belonged to and were active in the Gideons International from 1973 to 2011, handing out New Testaments to school children, nurses, prisoners, and anyone interested, and placing Bibles in hospitals and hotel rooms and sharing the good news of the Gospel.

She was 100% a farmer's wife, working joyfully and faithfully side by side with her husband. She was determined that the sugar beets, pinto beans, the garden, and yard would never see a weed. She enjoyed hoeing, not a trait passed on to her children. Her life centered around home, family, church and friends. She was a fabulous cook and welcoming hostess known for flaky pie crusts, finely cut homemade egg noodles, soft, melt-in-your mouth butterballs, and the most flavorful delicious German Cabbage pockets. After moving to assisted living, her love of reading the Bible and serving as a faithful prayer warrior for her family continued daily. She considered the residents and staff of Harmony Home her extended family. She filled her days with word search puzzles, walking the inside and outside perimeter of Harmony Home, sitting on the front porch watching the cars drive by, and whistling with the birds.

Being a loving, committed, faithful wife; supportive, caring, praying mother, grandmother, great and great, great grandmother was priority. She's leaving a strong legacy of unwavering faith in and obedience to Jesus Christ. Never complaining, she was filled with an unselfish, humble, gentle and gracious spirit; always putting others before herself.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Brandt; parents, Peter and Marie Ruhl; three sisters, Mary Brandt, Lydia Schlothauer, and Emma Schlothauer; two brothers, Peter and Wilbur "Dip"; and two brothers, David and Richard who died as newborns.  She is survived by her two children, Cynthia Lind and husband Eddie of Fort Morgan, and Steven Brandt and wife Janice Kembel Brandt of Windsor, CO; four grandchildren, Shelly Harden and husband Greg of Colorado Springs, Mike Lind of Fort Morgan, Shawn Brandt and wife Candis of Cleburne, TX, and Ceri Holsten and husband, Jon of Windsor, CO; 20 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Schimpf and husband Ervin of Falcon, CO, and Wilma Moore of Denver; one brother, Donald "Chic" Ruhl and wife Donna of Brush; three sisters-in-law, Elsie Naill of Fort Morgan, Dorothy Mirken Kamanski of Fort Morgan, and Edna Erosky of Denver; and many nieces and nephews.

Grief, yet peace, such mixed emotions, but as a family we know her joy and heart's desire is complete… She's with her Lord. Our separation is only temporary. It's not "Goodbye," but "Until Then."

The memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at Immanuel Evangelical Church, 318 West 7th Avenue, Fort Morgan, CO, on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Memory Gardens immediately following the service.
