RUTH KRENING, 76, of Fort Morgan, died Wednesday afternoon, April 11th at her home. She was born October 22, 1935 in Wiggins to John Sr. & Katherina (Sagel) Kembel. She married Ralph Krening on June 15, 1957. They lived in Woodrow for a number of years before returning to Fort Morgan where they farmed. Ruth spent her days as a farmwife and she also did bookkeeping for the feedlot for a short time. Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. She also belonged to the Ladies Guild there and taught Sunday School for a number of years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth especially liked making new recipes from scratch, for which she won many awards. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Krening of Fort Morgan; her children and their spouses, Larry & Judy Krening and Karen & Doug Chalk, of Fort Morgan and Arlene & Kent Nafziger of Grand Island, NE; and her 7 grandchildren, Sarah Krening, Rachel Krening, Rebekah Krening, Adam Krening, Matthew Krening, Austin Chalk, and Tyler Chalk. Ruth is also survived by 6 sisters, Rachel Meininger of Brush, Miriam Hoffman of Fort Morgan, Sally Law of Mesa, Lillian Peek of Lafayette, and Linda Klein of Englewood; and her brother, Ben Kembel of Arvada. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Esther Fries, Rose Krening, and Carol Saunders; three brothers, John Kembel Jr., Ruben Kembel, and Dan Kembel. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 17th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Hospice of Northern Colorado or to Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
