Obituary

Ruth A. Lundgren, 88, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away Monday, August 6, 2007, at the Kenton Manor in Greeley, CO surrounded by her immediate and extended family. She was born November 23, 1918, in Harshaw, WI, to Martin & Carrie Herman. She was the fourth of eight children and attended school in Harshaw. Upon completion of high school, Ruth went to Milwaukee to attend beauty school. While attending she met Edmund Lundgren. They were married May 31, 1941, and had married for 64 years when Ed died in 2004. The Lundgrens lived in Morgan County area since 1947, first living in Fort Morgan, then in Brush. Ruth worked for Wickham Tractor Company for many years as a bookkeeper. She cherished the friendships she made while working there. A longtime member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush, she was very active in the church. She served on many boards and taught Sunday school for years. Of all her accomplishments in her life, her children, grandchildren, and great - grandchildren were her greatest joy. Survivors include her 3 children, Donald, and his wife Glenda of Fort Morgan, Robert, and his wife, Belinda of Arvada, and Thea Hammers, and her husband Steven of Greeley, CO; one sister, Zella Busche and one brother, Thomas Herman; 7 grandchildren, Reese Lundgren and his wife, Melissa; Kristen Mettlin, and her husband Randy; Jennie McCabe, and her husband, Sheldon; Brie Berry, and her husband Nathan; Sarah Hawes, and her husband Derek; Patrick Hammers and Mathew Hammers; 15 great grandchildren, Austin, Zachary, and Makayla Lundgren; Thomas, Samuel, Isabelle and Benjamin Mettlin; Meagan, Aubrey, and Ryan McCabe; Kailey and Casady Berry; and Sean, Evan, and Brandon Hawes. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed; and 4 sisters, Elizabeth Michie, Helen Hill, Alice Penton, and Elsie Gerhardt. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran church, 603 Custer Street in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:00 - 10:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary in Brush Memorial gifts may be made in Ruth's name to the Kenton Manor Resident Activity Department, Trinity Lutheran Church in Greeley, or the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush c/o Heer Mortuary in Brush.
