Ruth Ann Odle, age 88, of Brush, Colorado, was united with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on May 19, 2026.

She was born October 16, 1937, in Greeley, Colorado, to the late Marguerite J (Moore) Dunn and Clarence E. Dunn.  She spent her growing up years attending grade school in Kersey Colorado.  In the eighth grade the family moved to a new farm near Eaton, Colorado.  She graduated from Eaton High School in 1955.

Ruth Ann was a physical education student at Colorado State College, in Fort Collins, Colorado, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Education.

In 1958, Ruth Ann was chosen to preside as the CSU College Days Rodeo Queen.

She married Jim Odle December 18, 1959, they started their life and family together in Kuner, Colorado.  She taught Physical Education at Meeker Jr. High in Greeley, Colorado and later at Brush Jr. High, Brush, CO.  The couple relocated to Brush, Colorado in 1970 where they purchased Brush Livestock Commission Co. as well as farming, and ranching.  They dedicated their lives to, and built a prominent legacy in the agricultural and livestock industries.  Ruth Ann spent many years clerking thousands of livestock, equipment and real estate auctions.  Rain, snow, or shine, she was always there.

She had a quiet hidden talent for drawing up blueprints.  She drew up the prints for both the Brush Livestock Commission Company (sale barn on the hill) and for the log home they built just south of Brush.

Ruth Ann was the heart of her home and the definition of a devoted wife, mother, Grandmother and great grandmother.  She had great love for their horses, with excellent horsemanship, showing and training many in their early years of marriage.  She was a master gardener, always having huge gardens.  She canned, froze, and pickled anything in season and was known for her "Hot Dill Pickles".  Not only did she sow seeds, she was also an incredibly talented seamstress.  She made her own wedding dress, as well as both her daughter's wedding dresses, many formals and cheer outfits for her kids and others around the Brush area.  Could hem and fix anything put in front of her (many pairs of jeans and softball/baseball pants).  She spent decades involved and helping around the Morgan County Fairs.

She was a woman of abundant faith who served selflessly at her church, Rankin Presbyterian, in Brush, for some six decades.  She served in many roles, including as Elder and Deacon. She had a beautiful singing voice and spent many years singing in the choir.

She was a member of the Bunker Hill Country Club and loved to spend time golfing with women all over Morgan County.  She had a great competitive spirit, which she definitely passed on to all her children.

Ruth Ann loved growing up in Eaton, however, she was a Beetdigger Mom and Grandma through and through.  All her children, two of their spouses and all thirteen grandchildren graduated as Brush Beetdiggers.  She and Dad loved to follow the Brush sports, and all the activities around the schools.  Over the years, they rarely missed a softball game.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jim Odle, their four children, Deanna (Brian) Christensen, Brush CO, Ted (Michele) Odle, Weatherford TX, Amy (Kevin) Needens, Mesa AZ, Tom (Amber) Odle, Brush, CO.  Her brother Bill (Judy) Dunn, Kersey CO, sister-in-law Norma Dunn, Eaton CO, sister-in-law Billie Lou (Paul) Gaiser, Greeley CO; thirteen grandchildren Ashley (Rogan) Einspahr, Wauneta, NE, Danielle (Brandon) Schiel, Fort Morgan, CO, Amanda (Eric) Ingmire, Portland, OR,  Brady (Melissa) Needens, Winslow, AZ, Jamie (Dustin) Kreger, Long Creek, OR, Megan (Jesse) West, Wauneta, NE, Katie (Ethan) Holly, Fort Scott, KS, Colby Needens, Mesa, AZ, Maggie (Colton) Dillavou, Severance, CO, Alex Odle, Brush, CO, Sydney(Jesse) Pope, Garnett, KS, Olivia Odle, Lubbock, TX, and Percy Odle, Brush, CO.  As well as 17 great-grandchildren and two more on the way, and numerous very special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marguerite J (Moore) Dunn and Clarence E. Dunn, her brother Richard Dunn, and her mother and father-in-law, Lucille and Percy Odle.

Ruth Ann was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, lastly but certainly not the least, she was a faithful Christian.  What a legacy she has left for us.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Rankin Presbyterian Church, 420 Clayton St., Brush, CO  80723.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rankin Presbyterian Church, or Cowboy Church.tv, P.O. Box 67, Brush, CO  80723 or a charity of your choice.
