Obituary

Ruth Ernestine Carver Ring, 95 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 27, 2015. Ruth was born to Samuel and Grace Carver in Smith Center, Kansas on June 2, 1919. In 1934, at the age of 16 Ruth married the love of her life Lyle, and they spent 77 years by each other's side until Lyle's death in 2012. During their married life, Ruth wore many hats, serving as the wife of a farmer, mother and also working at the Town of Crook's Post Office for several years. After retiring from years of farming, Lyle and Ruth became snowbirds and started migrating south to Mesa, Arizona for the winter months. In Arizona, Ruth enjoyed square dancing and cheering for Lyle while he played softball. Ruth loved to entertain and host dinner parties. Ruth could be counted on to always have a fantastic meal waiting whenever anyone would come to visit. She loved her family and friends dearly. Ruth loved the Lord and was very active in her home church in Crook. She was an amazing example of love to her family and cared for all of those around her. Ruth is survived by her daughter Lyla Carwin and husband Gene of Fort Morgan, daughter- in-law, Dee Martz and husband Dave of Colorado Springs, Grandchildren: Von and Jodi Ring, of Fort Collins, Janell Stone of Colorado Springs, LaJean and Mark Hertel of Westminster, Greg and Deb Carwin of Brush, Sandi McMillen of Denver, Burke Fielder of San Diego, California, Alison and Chad Covak of Parker, Jaylene and Eric Kunze of Arvada, and Jim Carwin and Kelly Rasmussen of Fort Morgan. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great- great-grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, son Norman, her parents and 3 brothers, John, Ralph and Melvin and 3 sisters Ada, Lee and Jean. A celebration of life service will be Wednesday, March 4th at 10 AM at the United Church of Crook in Crook, CO. A luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the service which will then be followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, Colorado. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, March 3rd from 6:00-8:00 pm.
