Obituary

Ruth Louise Wickham, longtime resident of Fort Morgan, passed away Sunday at the age of 91.  She was born in Denver Feb. 1, 1927 to Julius and Hulda Molberg, and married Homer Wickham in August 1946.  After living in Chicago for a short time and having their first baby, the couple moved to a wheat farm east of Denver.  There she gave birth to three more children and embraced a new rural lifestyle.  In 1960 they moved to Fort Morgan and added a fifth child to their family.

Ruth always surrounded herself with all that she loved -- God, her husband, her children and grandchildren, and the children of neighbors and friends.  She volunteered as a teachers' aide and worked at three of Fort Morgan's grade schools, maintaining an active lifestyle and making friends wherever she went.  She was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, and served on the board and as president of Fort Morgan's Community Concert Association.

After the loss in 2012 of her beloved husband of 66 years, Ruth participated in Fort Morgan Senior Center activities.  She is survived by three daughters -- Jody, Carol, and Nancy; two sons -- Howard and Greg; as well as 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:30 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.  Memorial gifts may be made to the church.
