Saba F. Ortega, 93 passed away August 18, 2024, in Brush, Colorado. He was born May 23, 1931in Ore New Mexico to Felix and Magdelina Ortega.

Saba Ortega was raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico, where he met Mary P. Jarmillo. Later they were married and had two sons and four daughters. Saba worked in the mines of Salt Lake City, Utah. Later in his life, Saba moved his family to Portales, New Mexico where he worked at a dairy for many years. Saba was a true cowboy, riding and training horses. He loved country music and played the guitar and harmonica.

Saba is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ortega; son, Frank Ortega; granddaughter, Tiffany Ortega; his parents, Felix and Magdelina Ortega; two brothers, Johnny Ortega and Samuel Ortega; his siter, Trinada Ortega; son in law, Raymond Segura; and a nephew, Rocky Perez.

He is survived by his children, Magdelina and Dan Gleason, Antonia Segura, Clara and Manuel Perez, Saba Ortega Jr., and Delphina; 19 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Saba Saturday August 31 at 2:00 PM at Platte Valley Baptist Church in Fort Morgan.
