Sakae K. Jones, 77, longtime area resident, died Sunday May 8, 2016 at her home in Fort Morgan.

She was born May 20, 1938 in Kobe, Japan to Mitsusaburo and Masa (Emi) Kitada.

She married Walter Woodrow Jones on September 12, 1958 in Toyko, Japan. He passed away in 1969.

Sakae was a member of the Church of Christ in Fort Morgan.

She also was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2551 in Fort Morgan.

Sakae enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, and crocheting. She loved her family and they were very important to her, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include John Paul Jones and wife Jennifer of Greeley, Barbara Ann Alamo and husband Scott of Colorado Springs, Walter Earl Jones and wife Sally of Michigan, Sandra Kay Venable and her husband Edwin of Eaton, Ohio, three sisters, eighteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Sakae was preceded in death by her husband Walter, both parents, two sisters, and numerous in-laws.

Memorial Services will be scheduled at a later date.
