Samantha Renee
Glenn
Jun 20, 1990 — Jul 26, 2022
She came into this world with a hole in her heart. Samantha was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado on June 20th, 1990; It was a Wednesday. The doctors said she had atrial septal defect, and they only gave her a 5% chance of survival. Faced with difficult surgeries, and little hope that premium baby defied all the odds and not only survived, but flourished. This was not only the start of her beautiful existence, but the first act of her hard headed stubborn will.
As the youngest of three children she was the baby of the family, and as the youngest she got a lot of great nick names over the years; Fred, Samirella, and even Skinny Little White Boy, but most people simply knew her as Sami. Growing up Sami was a very active child. As soon as she was able to walk she was always on the go. She could often be found walking all over her hometown of Brush, CO. She enjoyed many of the local activities such as skating at the roller rink, swimming at the pool, visiting the elders at Eben Ezer, racing mini soap box derby cars, and camping at the nearby lakes. During high school, Sami was introduced and became very involved in The Special Olympics, where she particularly enjoyed basketball and snow shoeing. Through the special Olympics she met many life long friends and companions that she bonded with.
In February of 2012 the greatest blessing of Sami's life arrived in the form of a beautiful baby girl. No matter the hardships that life tried to throw her way; One thing that can't be denied is that she loved her daughter. She had 10 wonderful years to watch her grow up to become the spitting image of herself. Even death doesn't break bonds like that, and on July 26th, 2022 in Loveland, CO Samantha closed her eyes, took her last breath, and left to walk amongst the Heavens.
Samantha was proceeded in death by her grandparents Walter and Wanda Houghton; her grandmother Beverly Ann Palmer; her biological father William Glenn; and her brother William "Billy" Glenn. She is survived by her parents, Wes and Sheila Houghton; her daughter Gracie Mae Glenn; her brother and sister-in-law, Micheal and Anna Rowcliffe; her grandparents, Art and Patty Goodner; her grandfather James Rowcliffe; her avowed sister, Tyler Lynn Jorgensen; and her avowed brother, Darrin Zemlicka.
She came into this world with a hole in her heart, and she left one in ours when she flew away. A lifetime may not be long enough to fill that void you left behind, but know that you were always loved and you will never be forgotten. Walk now with the angels and rest in peace... until we meet again sweet friend.
